Bake it off
A motion graphic that bakes cakes forever. Pastel colours, a neutral background and a single lead character.

From the technique
The project is made of several elements. Base: a conveyor belt holding the cake, created with a cloner and animated at the end. Topping: built with a plane and a bend deformer animated with a field. Icing: an organically modelled mesh animated with a melt deformer. Cream: I applied a sweep to two splines for the swirls, then a cloner animated with step. Candles: three meshes multiplied with an array.
To set up the scene I added a neutral plane, which gives the sense of infinity and acts as the backdrop. For the lighting I used an HDRI texture in sky, so the illumination stays even, tuning the parameters so only the light shows and not the scene.

To the story
I wanted a playful, cheerful motion graphic, a loop that bakes cakes forever.
Pastel colours, a neutral background and one undisputed lead: a cake. Sound finished the video and pushed the cartoon side of it.
